Claire
Claire is the founder of Big Heart Yoga, and offers a practice rooted in devotion, tradition, and the belief that yoga is for everyone.
With a background in marketing and many years working in high-pressure corporate environments, Claire first turned to yoga while training for marathons as a way to stay grounded and balanced. What began as a supportive practice soon deepened into a lifelong path of study, practice, and teaching.
Claire teaches yoga in a traditional way, honouring a clear lineage that traces back to Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, the teacher widely regarded as the father of modern yoga. Her approach is deeply influenced by her teacher Stewart Gilchrist and the teachings passed down through this lineage.
At the heart of Claire’s practice is Tristhāna - the integration of breath, bandha, and drishti. These three elements form the foundation of traditional Ashtanga practice, uniting body, mind, and awareness into one steady, integrated experience. Rather than striving for shapes or outcomes, Claire encourages students to move with attention, patience, and curiosity, allowing practice to unfold from the inside out.
Her classes blend strength with surrender. Dynamic, breath-led movement is balanced with moments of stillness, mantra, and quiet reflection. Thoughtful hands-on assists are offered with consent to support embodiment, alignment, and deeper awareness in the practice.
Her teaching honours the philosophical roots of yoga while remaining inclusive and accessible, meeting students wherever they are on their path.
She holds a 200-hour teacher training certification with Calli Pophams’ Embodied Beings and is currently completing her 300-hour advanced training with Stewart Gilchrist at the East London School of Yoga. Claire has also undertaken specific assists and adjustments training, has completed extensive study in yoga philosophy and Ayurveda and her practice has been shaped by time spent studying and practising in India.

Dave
Dave’s passion for fitness first really began at age 13 in a rusty old council gym, lifting weights with his dad, and was hooked for life. Around the same time Dave also began practicing karate, and discovered the benefits of a multi-disciplinary approach to fitness.
Dave began practicing ashtanga vinyasa yoga in 2005 with James Critchlow in Birmingham, beginning with one class a week, and then building up to a daily practice. He found this nicely complemented his regular gym strength training.
In 2012 Dave met his current yoga teacher, John Scott, and the following year completed John’s teacher training programme and began teaching himself. Since then Dave has continued to develop his skills and knowledge with John in various locations around the world.
Dave is grateful to have been able to practice with, and learn from other great teachers such as David Swenson, Kino MacGreggor, Lucy Crawford, Greg Nardi, David Kiel, and many others.
In 2015 Dave travelled to Mysore, India to practice at the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, where Ashtanga Yoga was first practiced.
Dave strongly believes in an accessible non-judgemental approach to yoga, and that anyone can practice yoga and enjoy it’s many benefits. It doesn’t matter how young or old, how fit, how flexible, or how able, if you want to practice, you can.
In 2015 Dave decided it was about time to share his passion for weight training, and qualified as a level three personal trainer. He left his day job in IT to work full time as a yoga teacher and personal trainer, and has never looked back!
Dave has trained clients of a variety of ages and backgrounds, some experienced athletes, and some completely new to fitness training. He particularly enjoys training clients who have never tried this sort of thing before, building up their confidence and abilities until they are happy and confident to walk into any gym and train!
Today, Dave teaches classes and trains clients at home, online, and in gyms and studios, and also runs yoga holidays and retreats.

Jenna
Jenna has been teaching yoga since 2019, specialising in Hatha and Vinyasa while offering an overall grounding and embodied practice that blends breath, movement, playfulness, energetic awareness, and meditation. Her classes are designed to guide students into deeper alignment with their Self and the sensuous, ever-changing world around them that can often feel chaotic and noisy. Her classes offer a welcoming and inclusive space to tune inward and realign with the ever present stillness and joy within.
Jenna brings elements of Tantra into her classes, a practice of love, full body awareness, sensuality and presence for a richer daily experience in life. Through practices centered on the chakras, sound healing, mantra, and mindful presence, Jenna invites students into a more connected, grounded, and awakened experience of mind, body, and spirit.
Jenna began her journey with Yoga back in 2017 as a means to find connection and purpose in her day to day life, facing a lack of tools and options to deal with her declining mental health. After spending years mindlessly pursuing pathways and careers that did not bring purpose or joy in her life she dove into the deep end and completed her 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings in Bali back to back in 2019. Ever since then Jenna has found a deep sense of meaning and alignment in her daily life, finally able to find joy in the smallest of places.

Tim
Tim is a new yoga teacher who cares about making yoga a part of everyday life. He believes yoga should be simple, easy to understand, and useful for everyone. His goal is to help real people, not just the perfect or ideal versions of ourselves.
Tim knows that coming to your first class can be a bit scary. You might worry about not being flexible enough, not knowing what to expect, or feeling out of place. He works hard to make sure anyone can join in, no matter their worries. His classes are straightforward, and he never assumes you know anything before you start. With Tim, there are no silly questions, he will help with anything from where to put your belongings to how to move in a way that suits your own body.
Tim teaches in a calm and welcoming way. He encourages everyone to listen to their own bodies instead of comparing themselves to others. He explains yoga ideas in simple words and relates them to real life.
Tim believes yoga is for people of all ages, body types, and experience levels. Whether you are new, coming back after a break, or just curious, you are welcome. The aim is not to be perfect, but to feel supported and comfortable in your body.
